Does anybody trade the banking sector?
Rough sector due to the flat yield curve. Tough for banks to make money. $JPM is probably best in the space. recent prop desk losses are overblown.
Correct, however there are several regional gems that have performed well YTD: $BKYF, $FCCO, $VYFC, $PLMT. BAC and USB doing well too.
Check out $ING as well
I see some bullish momentum near term with ING but that sector has not done well overall. They are deleveraging which has boosted income, but it may be a while before we see significant improvement in the sector.
I’ve been following regionals and I agree with Ray: the yield curve is making it difficult to find revenue.
